What will the performance be like?

This will be a devised ensemble performance.  You will work in a small groups to devise and perform scenes from real people's stories about their favourite books.  The performance will take place all around the egg auditorium, in the ceiling walkways, on the balconies, in amongst the crowd and will be accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack.

Together we will create a site-specific live installation specifically for the Egg Auditorium space.  The  stage will be flattened and the audience will move around.  The performance will be sensory and immersive using light and sound to create strong atmospheres and images.

This will be a very creative process - you will get to experiment with creating huge sculptures of books, ghost like literary characters that haunt the space and swathes of material to create trailing costumes.

 We imagine:

A huge tower of books with one of you performing on top of them

A soundscape made out of a the pages of books being turned

A domino of books that spirals throughout the whole auditorium

A gaggle of Emma's from Jane Austen's novels racing through the space

The project will be directed by Lucy Cassidy: www.lucycassidy.co.uk
